Ray Mullendore and Ilene Mullendore Butler were longtime residents of the Sedan, Kansas, area. This scholarship has been created in their memory.
The Scholarship aims to recognize and support our community’s bright, ambitious young minds, empowering them to pursue higher education and become future leaders, innovators, and community builders.

Eligibility criteria
- Graduating senior from:
- A Chautauqua County high school
- A Montgomery County high school
- Or a GED recipient
- GPA (on a 4.0 scale): 2.5+
- Pursuing postsecondary education at a:
- College or university
- Junior or community college
- Trade or vocational school
- Full-time enrollment (12+ hours undergraduate)
- Demonstrated excellence in:
- Academics
- Evidence of leadership
- School involvement
- Community involvement
