As a beloved coach, educator, community leader, and avid supporter of athletics, the Thomas J. Restivo Memorial Scholarship was established so that his legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Tom left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students and athletes. He contributed significantly to his community. The Thomas J. Restivo Scholarship is intended to “Give a shot to those who don’t have a shot.”
Amount of award(s): $500 (up to 2 installments of $250, fall and spring semesters)
Number of recipients: 1 recipient
Eligibility criteria
- Applicant must be:
- Graduating senior from a Crawford County, KS high school;
- Current college student;
- Nontraditional student returning to school after a break; or
- Previous recipient of this scholarship
- Applicant must be a full-time, legal resident of Crawford County, Kansas (but can have temporary residence elsewhere)
- Attending:
- Allen Community College
- Coffeyville Community College
- Fort Scott Community College
- Independence Community College
- Labette Community College
- Neosho County Community College
- Pittsburg State University
- An accredited Kansas technical, trade, or vocational school in Southeast Kansas
- GPA (on a 4.0 scale): 3.2+ (for graduating seniors)
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5+ (on a 4.0 scale)
