CFSEK Celebrates Another Great Match Day to Round Out 2024

The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas (CFSEK) is proud to announce that their 9th annual Match Day raised $264,066 in community donations for 43 area nonprofits! CFSEK’s affiliate foundations in Columbus, Fort Scott, and Girard raised over $155,000 collectively. In total, community donations along with matching funds resulted in over $650,000 raised through Match Day, which will benefit Southeast Kansas communities.

Since 2016, CFSEK has raised just shy of $2 million through Match Day to help increase endowments for area nonprofits. Endowments with CFSEK are meant to ensure each agency has access to guaranteed funds every year, forever. This year, thanks to the Patterson Family Foundation and the Nancy Parker Miller Memorial Fund, CFSEK was able to offer $100,000 in matching funds, the highest match pool to date. In addition, the Columbus Area, Fort Scott Area, and Girard Area Community Foundations each provided $25,000 in matching funds.

“Time and again, our community’s kindness truly amazes me,” said Devin Gorman, CFSEK Executive Director. “The incredible support we saw on Match Day, with hundreds of people across our area contributing, shows just how much our Southeast Kansas community cares. These donations keep our local nonprofits doing their vital work, making a real difference where it matters most. We’re grateful for every single person who stepped forward to support these organizations on Match Day.”

The generosity of the Southeast Kansas community (and beyond) makes Match Day so impactful for SEK and its communities. The CFSEK board and staff would like to thank all the Match Day donors for their continued generosity this Match Day!
