The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas (CFSEK) has added a new way for local residents to give in support of Southeast Kansas charities with the introduction of a “Give crypto” button to its Giving Hub. By clicking the button, donors will be redirected to a separate donation page hosted by Engiven, a trusted platform specializing in cryptocurrency donations for nonprofits.
“The number of people who own crypto assets has skyrocketed over the past 10 years,” said CFSEK Donor Relations & Community Outreach Coordinator Joshua McCloud. “At the same time, the value of many of those assets has also increased. Our new button gives those who have benefited from appreciating cryptocurrencies a convenient way to give back to their communities.”
Engiven makes donating cryptocurrency easy. Donors simply enter the amount and type of cryptocurrency they want to donate, add contact information or choose to give anonymously, and Engiven provides a public wallet address and QR code where donors can direct their transfer using their own cryptocurrency wallet.
Engiven accepts over 95 different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Solana, USD Coin, Dogecoin, and Basic Attention Tokens.
For now, the Engiven form only supports gifts for general support of CFSEK. However, donors who include their contact information when donating can contact McCloud to request their contribution be placed in a specific charitable fund at CFSEK.
“One of our core commitments has always been to simplify charitable giving,” McCloud commented. “We’ve always offered a way for people to support multiple charities and charitable causes with a single gift. We’ve always accepted donations of a wide range of physical assets. Now, we’re excited to extend that flexibility to the digital realm as well.”
