CFSEK Announces the 2024 Elm Acres Foundation Grant Recipients

The Elm Acres Foundation is proud to announce its 2024 grant awards to 16 Southeast Kansas organizations for 17 projects for at-risk youth totaling $22,095.  

The purpose of the Elm Acres Foundation, Inc. is to provide support for at-risk youth in the Southeast Kansas community (Crawford, Cherokee, and Labette counties), including supporting any entities that provide services for at-risk youth.  

“CFSEK is proud to continue the legacy of the Elm Acres Foundation, ensuring that at-risk youth in our Southeast Kansas area are receiving important services and quality programing,” said Devin Gorman, CFSEK Executive Director.  

The Elm Acres Foundation began its grantmaking through CFSEK in 2017 and has since awarded over $160,000 to over 50 nonprofit organizations in Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette counties.  

Recipients

The 2024 Elm Acres Foundation grants were awarded to the following organizations and projects: 

  • Colorful Connections Club – Community Outreach 
  • Crawford County Restorative Justice Authority – RJA Multi Purpose Room for Youth 
  • Families and Children Together Inc. – We’re Going Downtown 
  • First Baptist Church Riverton – Best Food Forward 
  • Fostering Connections – Game of Life Event for Teens 
  • Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc. – Program Supplies Needed for SEK Autism Clinic 
  • JR Dragons Youth League – JDYL Scholarship 
  • KVC Kansas – Kids and Family Fund 
  • Labette County USD 506 – Pre-schoolers Have Curious Minds 
  • McCune Osage Township – FACTS (Family, Activity, Community, Technology, Self-Care) 
  • SEK Interlocal 637 – Re-Wheeling for Safety 
  • SparkWheel – Ensuring Basic Needs are Met in Parson & Pittsburg Schools 
  • Special Olympics Kansas – Unified Bocce and Cornhole 
  • The Foster Closet, Inc. – Feets & Seats 
  • USD #504 Oswego, KS – Connections to Success Program 
  • USD 250 Pittsburg – Pittsburg High School Club 209A 
  • USD 250 Pittsburg – Happy Healthy Snack Project
