2018 Future Fund Grant Recipients

  • Communities in Schools of Mid-America, Inc.: “Holiday Meal Event” for at-risk students and their families to enjoy an evening of food and family engagement with resource referrals for the holidays provided.
  • Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas: “Good Night” is to purchase CPAP machine supplies of masks, filters, and tubing.
  • First United Methodist Church – Wesley House: “Bring Your A Game to Work” is a soft skill employment class for students and adults. Curriculum supplies and incentives will be purchased.
  • Interlocal 637: “An Apple a Day Helps Our Kids Find Their Way” is a project through the OT department to help students with disabilities with movement, language, emotions, and social skills through interactive technology via iPads.
  • Kansas Children’s Service League: “Healthy Families – Child and Home Safety Project” will furnish home safety items such as locks, latches, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, etc., and education to implement them.
  • Pittsburg Mother to Mother Ministry: “Supporting Youth with Special Needs Parent Training” is to purchase a special needs parenting curriculum.
  • Pittsburg Sunrise Rotary Foundation: “Wesley House AED” will provide an Automated External Defibrillator for clients and staff at Wesley House.
  • PSU Enactus: “Gorilla Achievement Program” is to purchase Job Preparation Training materials.
  • SEK Humane Society: “Assisting Tools for Helping Hands” provides a power washer and dolly for staff and volunteer workers.
  • SEK Women Helping Women: A Fairy Godmother’s Fund: “Whole Health Dental Cost Assistance” provides one time annual grants for women in need of dentures or dental needs.
  • Special Olympics Kansas: “Medals for Crawford County Athletes” will provide Crawford County Special Olympic athletes medals for the nine sporting events held annually.
  • The Lord’s Diner: “Industrial Refrigerator” purchase for The Lord’s Diner.
  • The Salvation Army: “Christmas Stockings” for children in families who participate in the annual Christmas distribution.
