Hurricane Harvey caused damage and flooding through Houston and part of its surrounding area, the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas is accepting monetary donations from community members to assist with the damage.
The foundation will send the donations to nonprofit agencies or its partner community foundations in the affected areas of Texas.
“We can see to it that the money will go to the nonprofit organizations and see its way into the community,” Community Foundation Executive Director Kit Parks said.
Parks said the contributions will go towards the long-term impacts of the disaster.
“The donations will be used for rebuilding, specific needs or whatever the Community Foundation designates from the city’s needs,” she said.
To make a donation for this disaster, make the check payable to: Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas and on the memo line specify: “Hurricane Harvey.”
Click on the DONATE NOW! button above and choose the “Disaster Relief Fund.” Donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 1448, Pittsburg, KS 66762-1448 or dropped by the Community Foundation office at 100 South Broadway, Suite 100 in Pittsburg.
