The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas was pleased to announce Ms. Kit Parks is its new Executive Director on May 14, 2015. Ms. Parks was unanimously approved by the full Board of Trustees, and comes to the foundation with 30+ years of nonprofit experience. She was recently with Elm Acres Youth Services, a program of DCCCA, serving the last eight years as the Elm Acres Executive Director.
She is a life-long Pittsburg resident, and is already familiar with many of the agencies the Foundation supports. Ms. Parks is replacing former ED Cathy White, who passed away earlier this year, and stated she “is excited to get started and maintain the momentum Cathy has built the last few years.” She added “CFSEK is a wonderful way to invest in your community, to leave a lasting legacy for improving the lives of those in need.”
Douglas Stuckey, President of the 22-member local board, said he is pleased to have someone of Ms. Park’s caliber. “She is held in the highest regard in the region and in the non-profit community throughout the state, and possesses the skills and confidence to carry out donors’ wishes,” he said.
The Trustees also want to acknowledge and thank Office Manager Marlene Braker, who did a momentous job keeping the Foundation moving forward during Cathy’s illness and after her passing.
